Day 1: Arrival in Ushuaia
Arrive in Ushuaia, where you will be met by a representative of Aurora Expeditions and transferred to your assigned pre-voyage hotel.
Check-in is from 3.00 pm.
This afternoon, visit the Aurora Expeditions hospitality desk in the hotel lobby to collect your luggage tags and confirm any pre-embarkation activities.
The remainder of your time is at leisure, with all meals at your own expense.
Day 2: Embarkation
Enjoy breakfast and check-out.
Ensure your cabin luggage is tagged and take it to hotel reception for transfer to the port.
Join the Lake Escondido tour, meeting at 8.45 am for a panoramic drive through the Andes, visiting Garibaldi Pass, and enjoying a Fuegian Lamb barbecue.
Alternatively, spend the day at leisure before transferring to the pier for embarkation.
Once onboard, settle into your cabin and attend mandatory briefings.
The ship departs with spectacular views of Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego.
Enjoy a welcome dinner with fellow expeditioners and the crew.
Day 3-4: Drake Passage Crossing
Commence the Drake Passage crossing, getting comfortable with the sea motions.
The expedition team prepares you for the first landing with wildlife guidelines and biosecurity procedures.

Watch and photograph seabirds like albatrosses and giant petrels.
Use onboard facilities such as the gym or observation lounges.
By the afternoon of Day 4, approach the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula, with the possibility of a first landing if weather permits.
Day 5-8: Antarctic Peninsula
Explore the western side of the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands.
Experience approximately 18-24 hours of daylight, allowing for busy days.
The expedition team designs daily activities based on weather and wildlife opportunities.
Participate in Zodiac cruises along ice cliffs or among icebergs, watching for whales, seals, and penguins.
Visit penguin rookeries, historic huts, and explore the peninsula's favorite spots.
Optional activities like the polar plunge are available when conditions allow.
Day 9: Final Morning in Antarctica
Enjoy a final morning landing in the South Shetland Islands before re-entering the Drake Passage for the return journey to South America.
Day 10: Disembarkation in Ushuaia
Cruise up the Beagle Channel and disembark in Ushuaia around 8.00 am.
