Day 1: Arrival in Punta Arenas, Chile

  • Arrive in Punta Arenas by 2:00 PM to attend the briefing.

  • Collect luggage cabin tags from the Aurora Expeditions hospitality desk.

  • Explore Punta Arenas, known for its cultural blend and historic significance.

  • Attend a voyage briefing at 7:00 PM to discuss the itinerary and IAATO regulations.

Day 2: Embarkation and Flight to King George Island

  • Transfer to Punta Arenas airport for a charter flight to King George Island, Antarctica (weather permitting).

  • The flight takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.

  • Upon arrival, transfer to the ship via Zodiac.

  • Settle into your cabin and attend safety briefings.

Days 3-9: Antarctic Peninsula Exploration

  • Explore the western side of the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands.

  • Experience approximately 18-24 hours of daylight.

  • Participate in Zodiac cruises and shore excursions twice daily.

  • Visit penguin rookeries, historic huts, and scenic viewpoints.

  • Enjoy ship cruises through narrow straits and scenic bays.

Days 10-11: Drake Passage Crossing

  • Conduct a final morning landing in the South Shetland Islands.
