Day 1: Arrive in & Explore Ushuaia
After arriving at Ushuaia, guests are welcomed at the airport and transferred to the Arakur Ushuaia Resort & Spa.
The day is spent relaxing or exploring Ushuaia, known as the southernmost city in the world.
An evening briefing at the Arakur provides an opportunity to ask questions and meet fellow travelers.
Day 2: Embarkation
The morning is free to relax at the hotel, visit a museum, or explore Ushuaia's shops.
In the mid-afternoon, guests are escorted to the ship, where they are welcomed by the Expedition Team and ship staff.
A safety and orientation briefing is followed by the Captain's welcome dinner, marking the beginning of the journey to Antarctica.
Day 3-4: Drake Passage
Crossing the Drake Passage offers a chance to learn about Antarctica's wildlife and history from Polar Experts.
Guests can participate in the Citizen Science program or simply enjoy the journey while spotting seabirds and possibly other wildlife.
The passage marks the transition into Antarctica's cooler waters.
Day 5: South Shetland Islands
This day is spent exploring the South Shetland Islands, known for their unique geology, mountains, glaciers, and abundant wildlife, including Chinstrap and Gentoo penguins, Elephant and Fur seals, and whales.
Guests use Zodiacs to explore the islands and may also kayak for a closer experience.
Day 6-9: Antarctica
These days are dedicated to exploring the Antarctic Peninsula.
Activities include Zodiac cruises, kayaking, snowshoeing, and camping under the stars.
Guests can also participate in the Citizen Science program to contribute to understanding this fragile environment.
Wildlife sightings are common, and the scenery is breathtaking.
Day 10-11: Drake Passage
The journey back north begins with a return crossing of the Drake Passage.
A slideshow and photography awards ceremony celebrate the expedition's conclusion.
Followed by a final meal together.
Day 12: Disembarkation in Ushuaia
Guests disembark in the morning, with options to catch a flight to Buenos Aires or stay in Ushuaia for further exploration.
