Day 1: Ushuaia

• Arrive in Ushuaia, where you will be met by a representative of Aurora Expeditions and transferred to your assigned pre-voyage hotel.

• Check-in is from 3:00 pm.

• This afternoon, visit the Aurora Expeditions hospitality desk to collect your luggage tags and confirm embarkation details.

• The remainder of your time is at leisure.

Day 2: Embarkation in Ushuaia

• Enjoy breakfast and check-out.

• Ensure your cabin luggage is tagged and transferred to the port.

• Spend the morning at leisure in Ushuaia.

• You may join an optional catamaran cruise of the Beagle Channel or explore the city independently.

• Meet at the hotel lobby or designated meeting point for transfer to the pier for embarkation.

• Once onboard, settle into your cabin and attend mandatory briefings.

• As the ship departs, enjoy views of Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego during a welcome dinner.

Day 3-4: Drake Passage

• Cross the Drake Passage, known for its unpredictable weather.

• Despite its reputation, the passage can sometimes resemble a calm lake.

• Onboard, enjoy casual shipboard life, including meals and wildlife spotting.

Day 5-8: Antarctic Peninsula & Weddell Sea

• Explore the Antarctic Peninsula and attempt landings in the Weddell Sea, where Shackleton's Endurance met its fate.

• Enjoy Zodiac cruises and shore excursions amidst spectacular icebergs and wildlife.

Day 9: Elephant Island

• Visit Elephant Island, where Shackleton and his men made landfall after their ordeal.

• Attempt a landing to explore this historic site.

Day 10-12: At Sea

• Sail across the Scotia Sea, retracing Shackleton's journey in the James Caird to South Georgia.

• Reflect on the hardships faced by Shackleton and his crew.

Day 13-16: South Georgia

• Explore South Georgia, a wildlife sanctuary with fur seals, elephant seals, and penguins.

• Visit sites like Stromness Bay and the Bay of Isles.

• Optional hike from Fortuna Bay to Stromness, following Shackleton's final journey.

Day 17-19: At Sea

• Sail from South Georgia towards Ushuaia.

• Enjoy seabirds following the vessel and take in the Southern Ocean views.

• Attend final lectures and reflect on the voyage.

Day 20: Return to Ushuaia

• Celebrate the end of the voyage with a Captain's farewell dinner.

• Disembark in Ushuaia, bringing an end to the expedition.
