Day 1
Arrive in Punta Arenas, Chile. Spend the day exploring the city, which is the most populated city in southern Patagonia. In the afternoon, meet with a Quark Expeditions representative at the official starting point hotel for a welcome dinner and briefing.
Day 2
Fly from Punta Arenas to King George Island, Antarctica. This flight crosses the Drake Passage in just two hours. After landing, take a short walk to the shore and transfer by Zodiac to your ship. Set sail for the Antarctic Peninsula.
Days 3 to 6
Explore the Antarctic Peninsula and surrounding islands. This includes Zodiac excursions to see wildlife such as penguins, seals, and whales. Visit historic sites and enjoy presentations on wildlife, history, and glaciology from onboard experts.
Days 7 to 9
Continue exploring the Antarctic Peninsula. Activities may include hiking to penguin rookeries, Zodiac cruises among icebergs, and visits to scientific research stations. Keep an eye out for leopard seals and orcas.
Day 10
Begin cruising north towards the South Shetland Islands. Continue wildlife viewing and Zodiac excursions as time allows.
Day 11
Disembark at King George Island and fly back to Punta Arenas, Chile. Spend the evening at leisure in Punta Arenas.
