Day 1: Ushuaia and the Beagle Channel

  • Begin the journey in Ushuaia, Argentina, often referred to as the "End of the World."

  • After a mandatory safety drill, the expedition sets off through the Beagle Channel, a steep-sided strait dividing southern Tierra del Fuego between Chile and Argentina.

  • Keep an eye out for whales and dolphins as you navigate into the Drake Passage.

Day 2-3: Drake Passage

  • Spend these days preparing for arrival in Antarctica with comprehensive briefings from the Expedition Leader on safety, minimizing impact, and wildlife watching tips.

  • The Expedition Team will assist with biosecuring clothing and equipment to protect Antarctica's delicate ecology.

  • Enjoy lectures on Antarctic exploration history, wildlife, geology, glaciology, and more.

  • Cross into the Antarctic Convergence, marking the intersection of Antarctic waters with warmer Atlantic and Pacific waters.

  • Expect abundant wildlife sightings, including petrels, albatrosses, penguins, seals, and whales.
