Day 1: Arrive Ushuaia

• Arrive in Ushuaia, where you will be met by a representative of Aurora Expeditions and transferred to your pre-voyage hotel.

• Check-in is from 3.00 pm.

• Visit the Aurora Expeditions hospitality desk in the hotel lobby between 3.00 pm and 7.00 pm to collect luggage tags and confirm details for the next day.

• The remainder of the day is at leisure, with all meals at your own expense.

Day 2: Embarkation

• Enjoy breakfast and check-out.

• Ensure cabin luggage is tagged and taken to hotel reception for transfer to the ship.

• Those interested can join the Lake Escondido tour, meeting at 8.45 am in the hotel lobby.

• Alternatively, spend the day at leisure before transferring to the pier for embarkation.

• Once onboard, settle into your cabin and attend mandatory briefings.

• The ship departs with spectacular views of Ushuaia and Tierra del Fuego.

• Enjoy a welcome dinner with fellow expeditioners and the crew.

Day 3-4: Drake Passage Crossing

• Commence the Drake Passage crossing, getting comfortable with the sea motions.

• The expedition team prepares you for the first landing with wildlife guidelines and biosecurity procedures.

• Start the lecture program to learn about Antarctica's history, wildlife, and environment.

• Enjoy watching seabirds like albatrosses and giant petrels.

• Use onboard facilities such as the gym, sauna, and jacuzzis.

• Time and weather permitting, attempt the first landing in Antarctica by late afternoon.

Days 5-12: Antarctic Peninsula

• Explore the western side of the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands.

• Experience approximately 18-24 hours of daylight, allowing for busy days.

• The expedition team designs daily activities based on weather, ice conditions, and wildlife opportunities.

• Typically, make two landings or Zodiac excursions daily.

• Visit penguin rookeries, historic huts, and explore favorite spots along the peninsula.

• Participate in activities like Zodiac cruises, beach walks, and hikes.

• Optional activities include paddling, camping, snowshoeing, and snorkeling.

Days 13-14: Drake Passage Crossing

• Enjoy a final morning landing in the South Shetland Islands before re-entering the Drake Passage.

• Engage in lectures and film presentations to complete the Antarctic experience.

• Reflect on the journey and discuss conservation efforts.

• Weather permitting, sail close to Cape Horn.

Day 15: Return to Ushuaia

• Arrive back in Ushuaia, concluding the expedition.
